Phuentsholing – Thimphu
On arrival at Jaigaon / Phuentsholing, guests will complete immigration formalities before entering Bhutan. After completing documentation, the journey begins towards Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. En route, guests will enjoy scenic mountain views, rivers, and lush valleys. Upon arrival in Thimphu, guests will check in to the hotel. Depending on time availability, short local sightseeing may be done. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the Thimphu hotel.
Thimphu Sightseeing
After breakfast, guests will proceed for full-day Thimphu sightseeing. The tour includes: Buddha Dordenma (Buddha Point) – One of the largest Buddha statues in the world, offering panoramic views of the Thimphu Valley; Takin Preserve – Home to Bhutan’s national animal, the unique takin; Tashichho Dzong (Thimphu Dzong Viewpoint) – The impressive fortress that houses government offices and monastic institutions; Simply Bhutan Museum – A living museum showcasing Bhutanese culture, lifestyle, and traditions. Guests will also have time to explore the local market for handicrafts and souvenirs. Overnight stay at the Thimphu hotel.
Thimphu – Punakha
After breakfast, guests will proceed towards Punakha, passing through the scenic Dochula Pass, which offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan ranges and 108 memorial chortens. Upon reaching Punakha, guests will visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, beautifully located at the confluence of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers. Later, enjoy a short walk across the famous Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of the longest suspension bridges in Bhutan. Guests will also visit Chimi Lhakhang, known as the “Fertility Temple,” after a pleasant countryside walk. After sightseeing, check in to the hotel and relax. Overnight stay at the Punakha hotel.
Punakha – Phuentsholing Drop
After breakfast, guests will check out from the hotel and begin their return journey to Phuentsholing. Upon arrival, the tour concludes with wonderful memories of Bhutan’s culture, spirituality, and scenic beauty.
